Our Story
Matchbox Restaurant serves delicious freshly made farmhouse breakfasts, light meals, yummy burgers, stews and desserts. We have a liquor license and provide an enjoyable experience with a glass of wine or ice-cold beer to complement your meal. While half of the family shops, the other half can enjoy the view, relax at the fireplace or sip on a cuppa. Our window tables provide a view of the kiddies' play area from where you can keep an eye on them. We understand that shopping can sometimes be strenuous, that’s why we want to make it a joyous experience by providing a ‘resting-spot’ for you to recharge your batteries and replenish your stomach.

We serve only good food, therefore every item on our menu is prepared with special attention using the best quality ingredients. Here we serve hearty farmhouse style breakfasts, our signature savoury pancakes, gourmet burgers, wood-fire pizzas or home cooked meals. For those lovers of sweet things we offer our famous cheesecake as well as other freshly baked cakes and tarts. You simply have to try our creative yummy milkshakes or taste the best cappuccino in town. Or better still, enjoy a glass of wine, cider or beer in our fully licensed restaurant.
Our Famous Milkshakes
We flourish on making our milkshakes look yummy as well as taste delightful. We even provide a mini milkshake for the little ones that just fit their stomach. Bubble gum, lime, strawberry, chocolate, vanilla, banana, peanut butter, milo and coffee are the flavours we specialise in. We make fruit shakes on request.
Savoury Pancakes
Our savoury pancakes (pannekoek) are amongst our most popular dishes. Most customers prefer the creamy spinach pancake, topped with cheddar and mozzarella cheese and served with an Asian salad. We also offer savoury mince and chicken & mayo pancakes.
Gourmet Burgers
Our gourmet burgers are prepared with love and a secret yummy sauce. Our beef patties are made by our local butchery and grilled to perfection. Enjoy a chicken or beef burger with a portion of chips and onion rings or Asian salad.
